One of our approved treatments under ISPM 15 is Heat Treatment, also known as HT. Our heat treatment plant specifically designed and equipped to carry out the heat treatment process on wooden packaging materials.
The purpose of the plant is to ensure that the wood is heated to a specific temperature for a specific duration to effectively eliminate any pests and their larvae present in the wood.
In our heat treatment plant, the wooden packaging materials, such as pallets, crates, or dunnage, are placed inside a heat chamber.
The chamber is heated to a temperature of at least 56 degrees Celsius (132.8 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum duration of 30 minutes. The temperature and duration may vary depending on the dimensions and thickness of the wood.
The heat treatment process kills insects, larvae, and other pests that may be present in the wood, making it safe for international transportation without the risk of introducing invasive species or diseases to new areas.
Under ISPM 15, heat treatment is the primary focus for eliminating pests and diseases in wooden packaging materials. However, moisture content in the wood is also an important consideration during the heat treatment process.
